Good Eats

Hello Dear Reader,
The Halls kept a cow and some chickens so they would have milk, butter, and eggs. Grandma (Caroline) Hall always raised a good garden. She grew huge bell peppers. They made green pepper sandwiches by placing sliced, salted bell peppers on bread and butter. They thought they were wonderful sandwiches. The also had watercress because it grew easily. Sometimes they ate carp from Utah Lake. That was Grandpa (Laning) Hall’s favorite fish. Uncle Norley often caught a carp, put it in fresh water and fed it for a few days to remove the muddy taste. The family then enjoyed a delicious fish dinner.
Love,
Aunt Genni
